Fashion cyclical but classics are forever. The story of First Article all started with a cast of friends with a common passion for quality goods. A team of like-minded individuals bonded over developing San Francisco Americana in 2014 into a private label. Our collaborative experience was driven by the persistence in seeking the truth of San Francisco garment manufacturing as we developed the brand to solve the lack of hyper-local manufactured quality goods. The vision was to assemble a line of perennial favorites from outerwear to accessories that’s accessibly priced. Each garment in the collection reflects a necessity we all have - and continue to have in our lives, may it be a minimal and lightweight duck canvas jacket that complements aged denim or a moisture wicking melton wool cap to hide our bed head. Our garments were proudly manufactured in the city by the Bay and produced in limited quantities to focus on quality, local narrative and reinvigorating SF textile employment.
